Petition Letter

Petition Letter: My name is Ruiqiang han. I am asking to drop ANAT 101, CISC 124 and PSYC 100 (Winter 2024). I was struggling last year and having mental problems that caused me couldn't focus on my study. It got serious since October,2023. I was very nervous and kept that as a secret and struggled under pressure for a long time. And i harmed myself between October and May for many times and failed my study. I was able to stay in class but it impacted my normal life home and whenever i am alone, i couldn't focus and kept being depressed. Fortunately, my friend realized my problem and called the police to have a conversation with me on April 25, they confirmed my mental problem and brought me to the hospital. I had some treatments there and got support online. Then i talked with my parents and told them about my problems and they were very supportive. I am finally getting back to my study and this is the reason for petitions requesting. Thank you so much.

Appeal Grounds

Appeals to the Board of Studies must include a letter based on one or more of the Grounds for Appeal (Appeal Regulation 3.4). What are the grounds you are basing your appeal on?
  • The Associate Dean's decision did not follow the rules of procedural fairness. A breach of procedural fairness includes such things as the Associate Dean failed to:
    • Make a reasonable decision in your appeal. A “reasonable” decision is one that is based on evidence, thought out and supported by facts and logical inferences from the facts. To be reasonable, the decision must contain adequate reasons for the conclusions.
Appeal Grounds Details: I have additional information and additional documentation that wasn't considered in my petition.

Appeal Letter

Appeal Letter: I have received the reason of denying my petition. I have got the letter from consoler to prove that I am doing well now and resolved my mental problem. I have also kept in touch with queens student wellness and getting help from Pamela. For next term, I will get support from student wellness and do my best in my study. I can guarantee that I will get high gpa if I can go back to study soon. This is the reason why I am appealing to the decision.
