Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Appeal Letter: To whom it should concern,

It is with frustration I am writing this, as this entire petition idea belongs to the Associate Dean herself. After a letter I wrote to the MPP (Ted Hsu), I received a reply from Dr. Stephenson, stating her belief in being able to late drop these exact courses, and to find my academic feet. She put me in contact with Haley Everson, who helped me craft my petition.
I submitted it the way I was instructed. After waiting for a while and not hearing back, I reached out to petitions, only to find out I needed to submit a different petition, one that if accepted will let me petition courses from previous years. I did as I was asked, and that petition was accepted.

In the earlier petition this year (submission #11846 ), the Associate Dean had asked me to submit a new petition with a note from a healthcare professional describing my. As I was unable to reach the Cognitive Behavioural Therapist I was seeing during the 2023 calendar year, or the Occupational Therapist I briefly was in contact with during the 2022 calendar year, and my regular family doctor was away, I did the next best thing which was see the stand in doctor while she was away (as she was gone this past summer). While Dr. Stephenson calling the Doctor’s note a “self report” is true, as I went to him and explained what had been going on…. I would like to know what else I should have, or could have done. I also found it difficult to specify what courses were impacted and how, as that contains sensitive health information that while important to my letter for evidence, may not be well received due to the nature of my condition.
