Petition Letter: Dear Administrator,
My name is Max Jenkins. I'm a 3rd year student majoring in Physics. I am writing to formally request consideration for late enrollment in PHYS 316, which is currently being taught this semester by Professor Tom Weisgarber.
I was unable to register for this course by the official deadline due to a prerequisite time conflict last year. However, after thoroughly reviewing the course and discussing it with Prof. Weisgarber, I believe PHYS 316 is a crucial part of my academic progress and aligns directly with my long-term academic goals. The course content is highly relevant to my major, and enrolling in it this semester will help me stay on track for timely graduation.
I am fully aware that enrolling late can sometimes disrupt core understanding of the course material, but I assure you that I am prepared to take all necessary steps to catch up on any missed material and actively participate in all upcoming classes. I am committed to putting in extra effort to ensure that my late enrollment does not negatively impact my performance or the course dynamics.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: Due to a time conflict last year, I could not take MATH 225 which is a prerequisite for this course. This has caused issues in my plan, which made me adjust to be able to graduate in the 4 years I had planned. This involved taking a larger course load in 4th year to complete all my required courses. If I could take this course now and PHYS 317 in the winter, then it would significantly lighten my course load in 4th year which will let me put more time and effort into each course. I will be a more successful student if I complete this course this year. I have talked to professor Weisgarber about this, and he is okay with me taking this course as long as I know how much catching up on material, I have due to missing 3 weeks. I have a much lighter schedule currently and will use the extra time to put into this course to make sure I am caught up with all the material. I believe taking this course now is the best way for me to apply myself and succeed as a student now and in my final year at queens.
