Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,

My name is Xingyu Liu, my student# is 20258060 and my Net id is 20XL46.
I am petitioning to add classes after the add deadline.
This is the first time for me to make this petition. I asked Mary Cramm and Arts and Science Student Services for help on Tuesday, but I got a reply untill today and learned that I need to file a petition.
On Monday I swapped GEOL107 and added DEVS101(Class#3748) to my schedule. However, instead of enrolling directly, I was placed third on the waitling list.
I dropped GEOL107 because I found that the knowledge of this course was too strange to me and there were too many exams and coopretive LABS, and I did not have enough time to spend on this course to ensure the completion of it.
I chose DEVS101 because I am very interested in this class and I am confident that I can complete this class perfectly after reading the syllabus and learning outcomes.
My current schedule only has 5 classes, and I really need to take courses in the fall semester and next year to make sure I can graduate next summer.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and hope for a favorable resolution.

Sincerely,
XINGYU LIU

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: Academic Plan

Focus of my studies
My academic focus is to successfully complete my degree at STAT and achieve good academic grades. My goal is to build a solid foundation in these fields while meeting STAT's degree requirements.
I know I need to finish the rest of the course. I will also consult with an academic advisor at my school to make sure that my course selection meets the requirements of my program.
In addition, I have a keen interest in DEVS101.

Workload expectation
Given my current situation, I plan to maintain a manageable workload to ensure academic success. I have about 12 hours of class time per week, plus 30+ hours of homework and study time.
However, with personal health and other matters in mind, I will adjust as needed.

Successful strategy
To address the challenges I've faced in the past and ensure future success, I've identified several key strategies:

1. Time Management:
The weekly schedule prioritizes courses and allocates enough time to study to ensure that I can successfully complete my studies.

2. Academic Support:
If I'm having trouble with course material, I regularly ask my professors and teaching assistants for help. If necessary, I will join a study group and study with my classmates.

3. Physical and mental health:
In order to maintain a healthy balance between my academic and personal life, I will exercise enough as I know that my physical and mental health is the key to maintaining long-term academic success.

By implementing these strategies and regularly evaluating my progress, I am confident that I can achieve my academic goals and succeed in my degree program.

This academic plan will serve as a guide to my success, and I will revisit it regularly and make necessary adjustments as I continue my studies.
