Petition Letter: To the Associate Dean,
I am writing to petition the course drop deadline for several courses. I could not complete these courses at the time due to serious extenuating circumstances.
In my first year, 2004, my father suddenly passed away from cancer. I subsequently fell ill with an ongoing medical illness that reduced my physical capacity and cognitive function. My condition fluctuated during this period along with my ability to meet a full course load. The illness harmed my academic performance—reducing focus, memory, and decision-making ability.
Ultimately, I would like to submit a petition to drop the classes I did not attend for the duration of my illness. These include:
