To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to request a credit standing in MATH 121/124. My fall term at Bader University was disrupted, and I continued my studies on the main campus during the winter semester. Due to this disruption, I experienced significant challenges that adversely affected my performance in this course.
The transition was more difficult than anticipated, as adjusting to both a new environment and changes in the course structure proved challenging. During the fall semester at Bader, the course structure differed significantly, including variations in assignment weightings and testing formats compared to the main campus. Additionally, I had to familiarize myself with new systems, such as WebWorks. This abrupt shift in my studies extended my adjustment period and intensified the difficulty of an already challenging course.
I continued with this course because it is a requirement for my major and could not be dropped. My performance during the fall semester was considerably better, which highlights the impact of the transition on my abilities. My performance in other courses was not as significantly affected, as I had been adequately prepared for the expected workload in those classes. However, the continuous assessments and unfamiliar homework systems in MATH 121/124 adversely affected my performance in the course.
Given the extreme circumstances and factors beyond my control that contributed to this outcome, I respectfully request that you grant me a credit standing for this course. This accommodation would help maintain consistency in my GPA and allow me to stay on track with the requirements for my degree.
