Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I request an exception to add the following courses after the add course deadline.
I wish to enroll late for the following:
FILM 112 Theory and Practice
PHIL 242 History of Moral Philosophy
POLS 242 Comparative Politics: Regimes
This petition is due to a psychological challenge associated with a recent diagnosis of ADHD and anxiety.
I have been experiencing severe anxiety, which affects my ability to deliver on time and in an effective manner.
However, I am working hard to meet deadlines and course requirements.
I am spending more time with my family and using more resources to improve.
I am prepared to thoroughly catch up on course materials, assessments, and assignments I missed.
I waited until I was ready to deliver and perform to the best of my ability.
I have timetabled the semester and understand what I need to do.
I am ready to enroll and plan to be caught up and deliver as soon as possible.
All of these courses have course availability.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I started taking three courses this semester due to my late start.
My primary focus is school, and I have removed any outside obligations that would divide my time.
I have made a timeline breaking down all the tasks required for each course.
I will work around my professor's and teaching assistant's timelines to complete tasks, assessments, and missed class participation. I plan to make up for missed time in class fully.
I will address comprehension of course material and follow up on any missed lecture notes.
I am excited and passionate about all course material. I am eager and ready to excel in these course curriculums this semester.
I have resources to hold me accountable and check in on my mental and academic health.
These resources have helped me shape routines and habits to help me perform to the best of my ability.
My passion for these topics and my strong mental and physical health allow me to maintain a steady pace throughout this semester.
I plan to access further resources through enrollment in QSAS. My ADHD diagnosis has led me to seek aid from a learning strategist in Student Academic Success Services. I have also planned to attend workshops and contacted a family friend who suffered similar academic challenges. He intends to peer tutor me.
I am a full-time student whose ultimate goal is academic success. Understanding my challenges, I must move forward and not let them control my thoughts and my goals. Separating myself from distractions and prioritizing my career health is optimal for mental and physical gratification and success.
