Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear To Whom It May Concern,

Over the weekend of the 24th-26th January, I was talking with a friend who mentioned they were taking a course (PHIL 296). After a while of chatting about it, I decided that I was interested in taking this course as well. Given I am on exchange, I do not have any required courses, which means I have flexibility in choice, but must also look at every possible course.

Problematically, over the same weekend, I preceeded to significantly injure myself. I ended up in hospital and was left with a knee problem that meant I was unable to walk, for which is still the case. The days succeeding the 25th (day of the injury), I was going between the ER, and hospitals/clinics. I did not have much capacity to do more. The rest of the time, I had to be in bed resting because my leg would not permit me to do more than that. By consequence, I ended up falling behind on classes, but also in relation to this, I lost focus on submitting my petition. Consequently, I missed the deadline, and therefore would like to submit this petition.

I would very much like to join this course, as doing a philosophy course on animals and society sounds incredibly interesting to me, and is up my street.

Due to the late nature of this, I have since discovered that the course is full, however, given there is no waitlist I have emailed the professor to see whether I would be able to join in, as of course not every student shows up to every class. If this is approved, I would very much like the ability to join this class.

All the best,
Zac
