Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Due to the unavailability of required psychology courses at ASO Queen’s for the Summer 2025 term that I have not already completed, I am unable to enroll in a course that fulfills my program requirement. As a result, taking a required course on a Letter of Permission is my only option to maintain my academic progress goal.
I have already submitted and received approval for 6.0 units via LOP for the Winter 2025 term, unaware at the time that I would have to take an additional 3.0 unit course to fulfill my requirements, my academic performance was impacted near the end of last semester due to unexpected family medical issues that required my assistance on helping out with my 4 younger siblings, while also balancing coursework and work. Despite my best efforts, these circumstances affected my ability to complete the required course. As a result, I now need to take an equivalent course on a Letter of Permission to stay on track for graduation. I have organized my life, school, and work balance to ensure my academic success moving forward, including making more time and improving time management.
