Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
I'm writing to formally ask York University for permission to enroll in more than 6.0 units of coursework through a Letter of Permission. Significant extenuating circumstances that have affected my academic trajectory and overall aspirations to complete my degree are the basis for my request. In order to finish my sociology degree, I am currently moving from Queen's University to York University. Due to budgetary limitations, I am unable to continue living away from home for another school year, therefore this change is required. I may lessen the financial strain of rising living expenditures while attending York University by remaining in Toronto.
In addition, the football program at York University has sent me a Letter of Intent, offering me the chance to play football for them. Continuing my athletic career while earning my degree is an essential part of my personal and professional development, as I was a four-year varsity athlete at Queen's University. However, I must enroll in more coursework than the 6.0 units allowed by a Letter of Permission in order to guarantee timely progress toward graduation. My ambition to swiftly complete degree requirements while maintaining a solid academic standing is the reason for the increased course load. I must take these extra courses in order to prevent further postponing my graduation due to athletic and financial reasons that need me to transfer to York University. My academic record attests to my capacity to balance demanding schoolwork with athletic obligations, and I am ready to continue achieving excellent academic standing while juggling my obligations. To ensure a smooth transition and quick completion of my sociology degree, I respectfully urge your consideration in granting my request.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: Should this petition be approved, I have created a well-organized strategy to successfully manage my academics and balance my responsibilities as a student-athlete in order to guarantee my academic success. Being a varsity football player at Queen's University has given me excellent time management abilities and the capacity to succeed academically in spite of rigorous sporting commitments. I will establish a thorough study plan, utilize all of York University's academic support services, and stay in regular contact with my academic advisor to track my progress in order to make sure I stay on course.
In order to improve my study habits, I also intend to utilize York University's student services, which include academic workshops, tutoring, and time management seminars. I'm also determined to keep a solid support network, which includes talking to instructors, getting advice from York's academic counselors for student-athletes, and working with teammates who have managed to effectively juggle academics and athletics. I am sure that by using these techniques, I will be able to balance my increased course load and achieve academic and athletic success.
