Petition Letter: I am writing to formally petition for approval to take more than 6.0 units of courses through a letter of permission from another institution. I have successfully completed 3 credits and would like to take an additional 6 credits (additional 3 unit) this semester in order to stay on track with my academic goals.
I understand that the usual limit for taking courses on a letter of permission is 6.0 units, but given my academic progress and the specific courses available through the other institution, I am requesting an exception. The additional credits will not only fulfill degree requirements but will also allow me to complete coursework that is not currently offered at our institution.
I have carefully considered the academic workload and am confident in my ability to manage the courses effectively. I plan to maintain a high level of academic performance and ensure that my commitments to these courses do not interfere with my overall academic progress.

Academic Plan: I am submitting my study plan with the intention of completing my degree requirements by Winter 2026. After completing my current semester's courses, I will still need 27 credits to graduate. In order to alleviate the academic pressure during the upcoming academic year, I plan to take 6 credits over the summer through another institution.
The decision to take these courses through another institution stems from my commitment to a summer internship, which will significantly reduce my available time for studying. By taking the courses at a different institution, I hope to manage my workload more effectively while gaining valuable experience in my internship. The courses offered by the other institution align well with my degree requirements, and this will allow me to maintain steady academic progress without overloading myself during the fall and spring terms of the next academic year.
