Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: My name is Sarika Mathur, and I am an interest student with the Bachelor of Health Sciences. I suffer from severe mental health issues, but despite all that, have an unwavering interest in academia and am determined to find a way to make a path for myself in it. This was my first semester as a student registered with QSAS, and though I was glad to have the accommodations given to me, due to some severe acute health difficulties I was facing, I faced great difficulty with engaging with the course this semester, and I can have my personal health professionals confirm this. I contacted the professor for my course, HSCI 190, and asked if there was a way that we could work out my submitting of materials late, but due to the fact that certain answers and results are posted publicly after the deadline passes, this wasn't able to be worked out. She spoke with an academic advisor and they recommended to me to get a late drop for the course, and try again. I am determined to achieve success in academia no matter my personal limits, and I appreciated her recommendation and her belief in my ability to try again.
