Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am requesting a CR grade for Film 200 because despite keeping up with the course content I was unable to complete personal assignments due to the labour disruption affecting my course and my illness at the same time. I had several long term academic considerations totalling for close to over a month as I was very ill and reacting badly to my medication. I had already fallen behind at this point and as I was trying to catch up and make up for my absence in the first half of the course the labour disruption occurred and the method of evaluation for the course changed before the Mastery question was decided on as the last assessment to determine our letter grade. At this time I was overwhelmed by the labour disruptions and issues affecting my other courses. I found it difficult to catch up and communicate with my professors about my needs and accommodations and failed to complete work that largely contributed to the final grade despite receiving a pass grade for previous work. Ultimately I believe I received just a passing grade which I would prefer to be a CR on my transcript.
