Petition Letter: Dear members of the Petition Office,
In writing this petition, I would like to request to take 15 units of courses on a letter of permission through Peking University and/or Renmin University of China.
These two universities are some of the most profound universities in China, located at the capital of China, Beijing. By choosing to take in-person courses at these universities would allow me an opportunity to be fully immersed in their campus environment, explore the academic environment in a different country from Canada, and broaden my international vision.
My family also lives in Beijing, so in taking the opportunity to study at these universities is a special experience where I can both explore the academic environment and spend time accompanying my family in Beijing.
The need to complete more than 6 units at these universities will assist me in completing my elective requirements for my degree at Queens. As I approach my fourth year in the upcoming September, I realize that I have a gap in course credits, especially for my electives. Therefore, taking 15 units at these universities in Beijing would help me meet both goals of exploring different academic environments, and fulfilling my elective requirements for my degree at Queens.
Best regards,
Jennifer Z.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: Plan if I have the opportunity to take 15 credits through the ILOP:
In my current standing, I have completed 75 credits and need 45 more credits to complete the 120-credit degree requirement. In the regular fall and winter term, I would take 5 courses per semester to have a total of 30 credits obtained. With 5 courses each term, I would not pressure myself on a heavy workload. These 30 credits plus the 15 credits this summer would make up the total of 45 credits that I’m missing. I only intended to use these 15 credits towards electives courses and complete my main courses on campus at Queens. This way I’ll be able to graduate in the 2026 summer, and continue with my other plans. Also, I can free up the summer term of my fourth year as a cushion zone for any unexpected events to happen.
