Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I hope you are doing well. I am writing to formally request a late drop for PSYC100: Principles of Psychology, due to the significant academic impact I have experienced as a result of the prolonged strike at Queen’s University.

The strike has had a serious and lasting effect on my academic progress, particularly in PSYC100, where the disruption of lectures, tutorials, and academic support services greatly compromised the quality of learning. The absence of consistent instruction, structured assessments, and clear communication left me without the necessary guidance to succeed in the course. Despite my best efforts to study independently, I found it extremely difficult to stay on track academically during this period of uncertainty.

This disruption has not only affected my understanding of the course material but has also caused considerable stress and anxiety, further impacting my performance. I strongly believe that my current academic standing in PSYC100 does not accurately reflect my commitment or capability, but rather the exceptional and unpredictable challenges caused by the strike.

Therefore, I respectfully request a late drop for this course, as I believe it is a fair and justified resolution given the circumstances that were entirely beyond my control. I am more than willing to provide any additional documentation or information required to support this request.

Thank you very much for your time and understanding. I truly appreciate your support.
