Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear dr.Lemieux,
I kindly ask you to consider my situation and change my grades in these two courses into a CR grades.
The labour disruption that happened during the winter term affected my work greatly and caused me to have a very bad grade.
In the beginning of the course we students usually read the syllabus and make a plan for the course work to make sure that we get the grades that we want. For me, I dealt with several issues in the beginning of this year which my kids illness, but I was planning to compensate for my grade with the two most important components of my final grades: the essay and the final exam. I was pretty sure of my ability to complete the course with a better grade depending on my plan, but the labour disruption caused my instructor to reweigh the grade and include only the midterm and the discussion post in the final grade which differs greatly than having all of the previous components of the final grade.
I understand that the term was hard for all of us including the instructors themselves, but this was unfair for me as I didn't get such grades since I started university with my first degree.
I please ask you again to help me deal with this issue as I was planning to graduate this fall and I lost a full semester because of that labour disruption.
Thank you,
Fatimah
