Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am writing to formally inform you of a personal circumstance that has significantly impacted my academic performance during Winter 2025 term. I am currently pregnant, and while I had planned to manage my responsibilities effectively, unforeseen complications and physical challenges associated with my pregnancy have made it increasingly difficult to meet my academic obligations. I had some bleeding due to two subchorionic hematoma.

This situation has been beyond my control. I have experienced pain and i still have hard time getting very little sleep. it has not been easy on me mental and emotional health, all of which have directly affected my ability to attend classes regularly, meet assignment deadlines, and maintain the standard of work I strive for. I have three other children under the ages of eight to look after.

Please know that I remain committed to my academic success and am taking every possible step to manage my health while keeping up with my coursework. However, due to the nature of this personal event, I kindly request that the university consider this as a valid extenuating circumstance. I am hopeful that with your understanding and support, appropriate adjustments or accommodations can be made to help me complete my studies successfully.

I have completed the tuition fee amendment appeal but i need the course to be dropped first before they can make the changes. Cindy Butts, Manager, Student Records, Office of the University Registrar should have my appeal information.
If required, I am able to provide supporting documentation from my healthcare provider to verify the medical aspects of my situation.

Thank you for your time and understanding. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss possible next steps or support options at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,
Elaha
