Petition Letter: To whom this may concern,
I hope this letter finds you well.
I am petitioning my final grade for reevaluation for FILM 112 because of a submission error that was out of my control. My current overall grade, in the class, stands at a B-, but if my Digital Story assignment were graded, based on a theoretical calculation, I would stand at an A. The work I have demonstrated in the course does not reflect the grade of a B-. I made an effort to keep up with my readings and stay engaged in non-mandatory tutorials, this I believe my TA can attest to.
My Digital Story assignment was submitted on time and correctly, as per the instruction of the rubric. I have record of communication with my TA of the initial difficulty to submit the assignment, as my absent group member did not allow the video to be public on YouTube, that was then eradicated and I was given a presentation supplement to complete, to make up for the video's inability to play during tutorial. I had also completed the first component of the assignment, that involved a demonstration of the plan of the film.
I believe the issue for this mistake is the result of the strike, and the lack of communication between the TAs and the professors at that time. My assignment was submitted, I am an organized student, who would not miss an assignment and I can prove that with evidence of communication between my group and my TA. The professor has said that there is no submission that she can see by any of my group members, but that is not possible when my TA received the assignment.
I am asking as a student, who puts a great deal of effort into her education, to have my grade for the Digital Story reevaluated, as it was submitted correctly and in a timely matter. There was simply a technical error on the end of the Professor, that I wish not to face penalty for.
I hope that I was able to make my case for reevaluation of my final grade. I am more than willing to share any and all communication between my TA on this matter.
