Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Hello, I am a student in computing and I am going into my second year as a student at Queens University. I am writing to formally request the removal of a final grade from my academic calendar (Math 120). I completed this course during the 2024 fall/ 2025 winter term.

Throughout this year I have been experiencing symptoms of ADHD, such as Difficulty sustaining focus during lectures and while studying, Mental restlessness and inability to concentrate for extended periods, etc. As a result the grade I received in this course does not accurately reflect my abilities or potential as a student. I have not been able to get a formal diagnosis yet due to financial burdens that my family has been facing.

The symptoms that I was facing and still continue to face, affected both my mental and physical wellbeing. And because of this it hindered my ability to output my full potential while completing this course.

My family and I are now actively prioritizing getting a formal assessment as soon as possible, seeing how it is affecting my ability to perform to my full capabilities, and the help and support that I need to overcome this challenge that I am faced with.

Given the circumstances, I kindly ask for your understanding and support in removing this grade from my transcript. I believe that what I am requesting is reasonable, considering the unrecognized and untreated learning difficulties that I failed. As I stated before this grade is not a showing of who I am as a student nor does it show my potential as a student.

Thank you very much for considering my request. I would be grateful for the opportunity to discuss this matter further.
