Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
I am writing to respectfully petition for a waiver of the requirement to withdraw for one year from the Faculty of Arts and Science.
I would like to express my concern regarding how my academic standing changed during this past year. My academic standing was previously Good Standing, and during my second year I was not placed on Academic Probation. Therefore, I do not understand how my standing could have changed directly from Good Standing to Required to Withdraw in one year, without going through Academic Probation for a year first. I respectfully ask that this issue be considered as part of my petition.
In addition, I would like to note that extenuating circumstances beyond my control affected my academic performance during this period. I feel that these circumstances may have contributed, in part, to my current academic standing.
I want to continuing my studies at Queen’s and to improving my academic performance. If my petition is granted, I will implement my academic plan and take all necessary steps to return to Good Standing.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I will carefully manage my course load to ensure that I can focus fully on each course. I will actively use academic resources at Queen’s for help with study skills and time management. I will maintain regular contact with academic advisors to monitor my progress and receive guidance as needed. I am determined to make adjustments and to demonstrate strong academic progress in future terms.
