Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am writing to formally request CR standing in two of my winter term courses due to significant circumstances that impacted my academic performance. During the term I faced a severe family emergency when my mother became ill. During the term I had to act as a caregiver for her, this placed immense emotional strain on me during this term. At the same time the work stoppage at Queen’s furthered my situation and worsened my ability to perform. While undergoing this immense stress and strain I talked with a crisis counselor at Queen’s to discuss ways to cope and manage my situation, but ultimately I still fell short in my academic performance. Given the extraordinary nature of these events and their direct impact on my performance, I am requesting CR standing in these courses.

If any further information is needed please let me know, I am committed to my academic success at Queen’s and am taking steps to return to a stable and productive environment. I respectfully ask for your consideration and understanding in this matter.
