Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear The Associate Dean Who Will See This Letter,
Hope this letter finds you well.
I am Jasmine Kong with student number 20260304, I am writing this letter because I want to apply an extension for the deferred midterm exam of BCHM 218. I defer this exam for the first time in June because I ate something wrong when I went out with friends before the exam happened, I think the main reason for that to happen is we ate unfresh meat like it even smells not good before we ate it but because it's fried chicken so the sauce mostly covered that smell, thus we still finish eating them.I have written my detailed situation in the message that I have sent to my professor, like after I went back home that night, I started to vomit and diarrhea for several times, it's too hard to bear because I also felt very dizzy due to loss of energy that I almost fall down in the bathroom. At that time, I truly don' have a good health condition to do the exam so I sent an email to my professor and he is so nice so he agreed with the request and I felt very thankful for that so I started to prepare for the deferred exam while submitting all my works on time. But the bad thing didn't just happen once, the special situation for me right now is I am living with my sister in Toronto during summer and I also mentioned it in the second message I sent to my professor. The apartment we live has lots of people in it and it has something wrong going on very often like these months we have experienced fire-alarm for at least five times with power outage sometimes and the water will also be affected or just goes wrong itself. Before the deferred exam happen, we just experienced a big fire-alarm that we have to run down stairs from over twenty floors and it seemed affected the providing of power and hot water, so we had no hot water to use for about three or four days so that we can only take bathes by using cold water and the cold water provided is very cold that my hands could not even touch it for several minutes. So, even everyday I just take quick bath, it still made me catch a very heavy cold before the deferred exam that I had fever on-and-off with running nose, headache and sore throat and so on... I really wanted to attend the exam so I tried to buy myself some medicine because I know this exam is so important to me, but it didn't always work like the morning before the deferred exam happened, I had a fever of over 38 degree so I truly couldn't attend the exam just like what I wrote to my professor. I know that defer the exam for twice is not good but I really couldn't find a way to attend the exam at that time because I even couldn't get up from bed when I was sick and I promise I will complete it on time if you can please give me a chance. Besides the exam, I have finished all things in this course on time so all I need it's one chance and I promise I will not let you down again.
Thank you for your help and patience
Best,
Jasmine
