Petition Letter
Petition Letter: My name is Mingen Xu, and I am currently a fourth-year Computer Science student at Queen's University, expected to graduate in 2026. I am writing to formally request a permit to take CISC 352 (Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence) at another accredited institution during the upcoming Winter 2026 term.
In order to fulfill my graduation requirements on time, I must complete both CISC 352 and CISC 455 (Advanced Algorithms) in the next semester. Unfortunately, these two courses are scheduled at overlapping times, which prevents me from enrolling in both simultaneously at Queen's University.
As both courses are mandatory for my degree and I am unable to delay graduation, I would like to request permission to take CISC 352 off-campus. I will ensure that the substitute course is from a recognized university, closely matches the curriculum of our CISC 352 course, and meets all necessary credit transfer requirements. I will also submit the course syllabus and documentation for review and approval prior to enrolling.
I greatly appreciate your consideration of my request, and I am happy to provide any further details or meet to discuss this in person if needed.
