Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally request a deferral for my PSYC 100 final exam.
I am registered with Queen’s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) for a documented mental health condition. Unfortunately, due to a recent exacerbation of my symptoms, I am unable to perform to the best of my academic ability.
At this time, I believe that deferring the exam is necessary for me to be able to complete the assessment with a more level head.
I understand the importance of academic integrity and timely completion of coursework and assure you that I am committed to fulfilling all course requirements as soon as possible. I am happy to provide any documentation required from QSAS to support this request and will coordinate with the PSYC 100 team to reschedule the exam at the earliest appropriate opportunity.
