Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
I am writing to request permission to swap LLCU 206 – Rebel Cities with LLCU 295 – Special Topics: Critical Canadian Identity despite the closure of the add/drop period.
During the week of September 8–15, I was away from campus due to a family matter that required my full attention. This was an unexpected circumstance beyond my control, and as a result, I was unable to adjust my course schedule before the deadline.
This absence affected my academic planning: while I stayed on top of my assigned coursework, I was unable to complete the administrative step of switching into LLCU 295. I had intended to take this course because it aligns better with my academic interests and long-term goals, and I believe the content will enable me to make more meaningful progress in my program.
Since returning, I have resumed my studies fully and am prepared to take on the responsibilities of LLCU 295 should my petition be approved.
Thank you very much for your time and understanding.
Sincerely,
Aly Goldman

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: If my petition is granted and I am able to switch into LLCU 295 – Special Topics: Critical Canadian Identity, I will immediately catch up on any missed material by reviewing the syllabus and connecting with the instructor if needed. Since the family matter that kept me away from campus has been resolved, I do not anticipate further disruptions to my studies.
I am keeping up with my current coursework and will dedicate extra time over the next week to ensure I am fully aligned with the requirements of LLCU 295. Since the add/drop period only ended two days ago, I believe I will be able to transition into the course smoothly without falling behind.
