Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: My name is Sarah Snider and I’m a third-year biology specialization student planning to pursue genetic counselling after graduation. To do this, I need to take a human embryology course such as ANAT 471. When planning my courses, I misunderstood the prerequisites for ANAT 471 and unfortunately didn’t set things up correctly for this year.

I ended up enrolling in ANAT 100 and PHGY 215/216 with the plan of also taking ANAT 380, but I’ve realized that instead I could take ANAT 215 and 216 as the prerequisites for ANAT 471. ANAT 380 and 471 run at the same time next year, and I’m concerned that I may not be able to take ANAT 471 if I’m not allowed to take ANAT 380 and 471 concurrently.

Because of this, I am asking for permission to join ANAT 215 late this term and then take ANAT 216 next term. I know today is the last day to appeal for late enrolment, but I only just realized this was an option after talking with multiple resources. I have checked SOLUS and have seen that there are still spaces available in the class.
