Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am requesting permission to add IDIS-199 after the add deadline. In early September I swapped sections of CISC-203 because the alternate section fit my schedule better. When I attempted to switch back, the original section was full and I was placed on the waitlist. On September 15,the final add/drop date, I was automatically removed from the waitlist. After the deadline I could not re-enroll in either section and was advised no further adds would be permitted, leaving me with only four courses.
I accept responsibility for misjudging the risk of a late section change. I acted promptly once I realized the issue (monitoring SOLUS for openings, contacting the instructor/department, and exploring options with advising). To maintain full-time status and normal degree progression, I am petitioning to add IDIS-199 late. If approved, I will complete all missed work on an accelerated timeline and ensure I am fully caught up right away.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: If permitted to add IDIS-199, I will immediately review the syllabus and course site, gather all missed materials, and submit any allowable work within the first week. I will block many hours per week in my calendar dedicated to readings, assignments, and review, and track all deadlines in a task list I update weekly. I will use campus learning resources as needed and maintain a consistent study routine alongside my current four courses to keep a balanced workload. For degree planning, I will enroll in CISC-203 at the next offering and do light weekly prep this term so I am ready to progress on schedule.
