Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern:
I applied for an Aegrotat qualification at the beginning of the summer for three of my five winter term courses, and incomplete marks in the two others (in the hopes that I could complete the courses over the summer). I was unable to finish the rest of the winter semester at Queen's due to struggles with mental health. I was approved for two of the Aegrotats, but in ENGL 100, I had completed just short of the 60 necessary for the qualification, and so I dropped the course. The two courses for which I had received Incompletes and intended to complete over the summer (IDIS 210 with Professor Rogalsky and PHIL 256 with Professor Fairfield) are listed respectively as IN and F on SOLUS. I did not complete these two courses over the summer despite the arrangements I had made with the professors to do so. I was unable to complete them as a result of my continued struggles with mental health. I had great difficulty adjusting to my medication, which, after 6 weeks of changing prescriptions and doses, continued to make me nauseous and extremely fatigued. As my troubles wore on, I was advised by my counsellor to enrol in a treatment facility, at which I spent six weeks over the summer. While at the facility, I spent all my energy and self-improvement and mental health, and did not have the time, energy, or access to complete my courses.
