Petition Letter
Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
My name is Ivan Bundalo, and I am a 2nd year student in computing.
The reason for this petition letter to drop these 3 courses is because they are affecting my gpa and I would like to have a better chance of boosting my gpa after dropping these courses from my academic record.
MATH 121 took a very big mental toll on me throughout the year and by the end of my first year, after speaking with a guidance advisor, I have been informed that MATH 121 was not a required course for me to take. I was under the impression that it was required because it was in the computing plan for year 1 but then the guidance advisor told me they hadn't updated that plan and that it was no longer required. Therefore impacting my gpa and mental health in a negative way making it harder to move forward with my studies as long as it remains on my record/gpa.
CISC 101 is another course like MATH 121 that I would like to drop as well.
ASTR 101 was a heavy course and for the most part I was doing good in it but after completing the final and receiving a final grade, I saw I hadn't passed the course even though all my grades up to the final were high. Although I also haven't received marks for some assignments (I remember bringing this up to my guidance advisor). I didn't see anywhere in the syllabus that in order to pass the class I must pass the final but even then I didn't get a mark back for my final exam just a final grade of the course.
My guidance advisor told me to take these steps to improve my chances of boosting my gpa and giving me less stress and less mental struggle because these things do affect me very much and I am worried for my education.
That being said, I hope I am able to drop these 3 courses and keep striving and working hard to improve my gpa and do better this year than I did last year.
Thank you,
Ivan
