Petition Letter: Dear Dr. Dorit Naaman.
I am writing this letter for permission to take more than 6.0 units on an LOP from another university. After my studies were interrupted by extenuating familial circumstances in 2022, I am seeking to return to finish my BA in History at Queen's University. I only require 15.0 units of electives, one full semester of classes, but no longer live in Kingston and cannot afford to move to Kingston for one semester, away from family, to finish my degree requirements. I attempted to enroll in online courses, however all courses I am eligible for have closed for enrollment. I have already have submitted an SOP for 6.0 units from the University of Athabasca, and am humbly petitioning to be allowed to take the full 15.0 units I require from the University of Athabasca, as they have class availability.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: My academic plan is to finish my degree requirements remotely. The unexpected interruption to my studies affected me severely, but I have been engaged in therapy since meeting with an incredibly helpful counsellor at Student Wellness in 2022. I will continue to do so through my studies, and see completing this degree as vital to my continued growth and healing.
