Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

I'm writing to request that my LLCU 111 grade be removed from my GPA calculation due to extenuating circumstances that negatively impacted my academic performance in Winter 2025. In my second semester of University I was struggling with increasing anxiety over school work and frequent panic attacks. While I wanted to do the work, my anxiety paralyzed me to not turn in assignments and made it difficult to fully dedicate myself to the work. Specifically with this course as I got back grades that weren’t always the greatest the anxiety increased., which then made it harder to submit things and do my best work.

When I realized my anxiety was affecting my performance I sought help at Student wellness with a therapist, where we worked through my anxiety around the class and school in general. Unfortunately this help was a little too late and I ended up with a D- in the class.

I also am continuing on with a private therapist to keep on working on my anxiety and my mental health. I would like to go on exchange next year and removing this class from my GPA will significantly help so I can go. As well as having a better GPA will also help me with future academic opportunities as well. I understand this is coming at a late time, but I would greatly appreciate it if you consider my situation as exchange is something I am very excited for, and believe it will make me grow as a person. I have included documentation from Roger Davidson, Therapist at student wellness as well.

Best,
