Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am requesting a late course drop for POLS 284. I have yet to complete the final exam which is set to take place Dec. 19, 2025. After reaching out to my department, I have been informed that the deadline for late class drop has just passed on Dec. 2, 2025.
Although I am reluctant to share private information with anyone besides close friends and family, I understand that is important to clarify the reason for my late class drop. Early November, my parents went through a horrific divorce. Initially, I was not impacted because I was away from home. Upon returning, It became a lot more difficult. I have remained at home for the past month in order to support my Sister and family. I have since only returned back to Queens for in-person assessments, and maintained my course workload exclusively through online classes. I already had to drop POLS 211 due to missed work and absences. POLS 284 was my only other in-person class which is why I am requesting a late class drop.
