Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: During this term, I was having a very hard time with the MUSC 171 course. Although I tried to keep up with this course, I was unaware of how heavy the final assignments were and I could not keep up. By the time I received my grade on the midterm assignment it was too late and I realized I was not going to pass the course. I went through a significant amount of stress trying to keep up with this course and it was unexpected as I thought the course would go into more musical theory and less writing. When I tried to drop the course in SOLUS right when I got my grade and the final assignment was due the next day, the system denied my request and I contacted academic advising right away for assistance. I would like to have a late drop so that the elective course I took does not impact my academic standing negatively. Thank you very much for your consideration on this letter.
