Petition Letter: I am writing to formally petition for permission to complete the language requirement for my program in an alternative manner.
My program requires students to complete two language courses, with at least one reaching either the 100-level or 300-level. I had originally planned to pursue Spanish up to the 300-level as part of my academic plan. However, I recently noticed that the SPAN 300-level course is no longer offered at our university. This circumstance is beyond my control and directly affects my ability to meet the program’s language requirements through the regular course offerings.
To fulfill the full 300-level Spanish requirement (6 credits), I would like to request permission to take two equivalent 300-level Spanish courses at an external institution, planned for the 2026 Summer Term and 2026 Fall Term.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: If my petition is approved, I plan to complete the full 300-level Spanish requirement by enrolling in two equivalent 300-level Spanish courses at an accredited external institution during the 2026 Summer Term and 2026 Fall Term. This will allow me to fulfill the 6-credit requirement for my program without delaying my graduation.
I will continue to follow my regular study schedule, manage my course workload effectively, and seek guidance from my academic advisor as needed to ensure that I remain on track for timely completion of my degree.
