Petition Letter: Dear Dean,
I would like to submit an appeal to waive the 21 day deadline. Unfortunately I was unaware of my acedemic standing and the procedures until recently. I spoke with my advisor who told me to waive the 21 day deadline first. I really believe that I have valid reasons for my poor acedemic performance last year and if I were allowed a chance, I will provide neccesary documentations and proper measures to improve my grades. I suffered learning disabilities, which I was not aware of, and I was unable to concentrate on my studies. I have spoken to the disability services and I have shown signs of learning disabilities such as dyslexia. On top of that, I was depressed because my grandma who raised me passed away. I would really appreciate if I were allowed to continnue my studies in september and improve my grades significantly. Meanwhile, I will seek support for my disabilities and learning strategies for my circumstance from experts. I am really trying to find a long-term solution and different learning techniques to cope with my weaknesses and get me through the difficult times. I hope I can gain your support as well.

Petition Letter: Unfortunately I was required to withdraw for one year because my academic performance was poor, but that¿¿s only because I was unaware of my learning disabilities until recently, and didn¿¿t take proper measures. Unlike other students who failed, I stayed at the library for hours each day but my learning efficiency was low that it didn¿¿t matter. It took me much longer time to absorb and process the same amount of information. As you may know, students may be assigned to read hundreds of pages per week and having dyslexia would not help. On top my learning disability issues, I was really depressed with my grandma¿¿s passing since she raised me. I was unhappy all the time and unable to concentrate. I felt hopeless and without a goal ¿¿ it¿¿s hard to explain.
Academic Plan
Academic Plan: If my appeal is granted, I will make maximum effort to achieve the desired grades. I Will go to RARC to learn more about my learning disabilities specifically. I've consulted experts, and I can only afford it if I were allowed to continue my study, as a large sum is required and I need the bursaries for it. Meanwhile I will also seek learning strategists to help me plan and cope with my weaknesses. I know I have the potential to achieve good grades, but not the same way I used past year. I need to seek strategies that work for me specifically. I've already done a lot of research and know who to consult. I really hope my appeal will be granted because I really want to see how it goes knowing my problems this time around. If the decision is made after september when I can no longer enroll, I would like to continue my study in winter.
