Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am submitting this petition because of medical issues beyond my control that affected my ability to complete my academic work as required.

Over the past few weeks, I have been dealing with ongoing physical health problems, including chronic stomach issues, dizziness, and abdominal pain. These symptoms became worse during periods of high stress. I tried to manage my health while continuing my studies, but my condition became more severe during the deferred exam period.

In the days leading up to my deferred exam, I experienced persistent dizziness and stomach discomfort, followed by a sudden episode of severe abdominal pain with nausea and diarrhea. This made it very difficult for me to concentrate and sit for long periods. At that time, I was not physically well enough to write the exam safely or perform at my normal academic level.

These health issues directly affected my academic performance. Because of the pain, nausea, and dizziness, I was unable to study effectively and could not complete the deferred exam as scheduled. This was not due to a lack of effort or planning, but because my physical condition unexpectedly worsened.

After this occurred, I took steps to address the situation. I sought medical advice and documented my symptoms. I also followed recommended measures to manage my condition and have been taking steps to better care for my health. I understand the importance of academic responsibilities and would not request consideration unless it was necessary.

The health issues I experienced were unexpected and outside of my control, and they had a direct impact on my ability to complete my academic requirements during the deferred exam period. I remain committed to my studies and am asking for consideration so that I may complete my course requirements fairly once my health is stable.
Because my symptoms were significant at the time and walk-in clinics in Kingston often require long wait times, I sought medical care through a virtual healthcare service and obtained medical documentation.

Thank you for taking the time to review my petition and supporting documents.
