Petition Letter: At the time of my enrolment appointment, all courses that aligned with my program requirements and academic focus were full. As a result, I enrolled in PHIL 301 as it was the only available option to ensure I remained full-time and met degree requirements. This situation was outside of my control and placed me in a course that does not align with my academic background or strengths.
Since the start of the term, I have experienced significant difficulty in PHIL 301, including challenges with course material. These difficulties have directly affected my ability to engage with the course and perform to the standard I typically achieve in my program. I have actively sought alternatives by contacting academic advising and monitoring course availability; however, the biology course I wish to enrol in only became available after the course add deadline had passed.
Enrolling in this biology course would allow me to return to coursework that aligns with my academic training and interests, and would meaningfully improve my ability to succeed this term.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: If my petition is granted, I will take immediate steps to ensure a successful transition into the course. I will contact the course instructor as soon as possible to inform them of my late enrolment and to clarify any missed material or deadlines. I will ask whether there are alternative ways to complete any assignments, quizzes, or discussion posts I may have missed and will prioritize catching up on course content. I am committed to maintaining regular communication with the instructor and dedicating the necessary time and effort to meet all course expectations moving forward.
