Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am writing to formally request a further deferral of my EMPR 220 final examination, which was originally scheduled for January 18th and had already been deferred. In early January, I required emergency surgery in the hospital. After leaving, my doctor instructed me to take additional time off to recover, as I was not yet ready to be in school. Unfortunately, my recovery extended into the period of my deferred exam, and I was still experiencing post-surgical symptoms at the time of the scheduled exam. Due to these medical circumstances, I was unable to study and take the exam on January 18th.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. I am committed to completing the course requirements once I am able to do so and would be grateful for your consideration of a further deferral. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
