This is Annie from the GNDS major.
I am writing to request permission to add GNDS120 to my 2026 Winter Semester schedule after the deadline.
I missed the course selection deadline because I encountered unforeseen health problems at the beginning of this year (before the start of this semester).
From the beginning of January to the middle of the month, I caught a severe case of the flu with a high fever. This sudden illness left me extremely weak. During this period, I was unable to use the computer normally or handle complex administrative affairs, which directly led to my missing the originally planned course selection window period.
As the illness occurred during the critical period of course selection before the start of the semester, my main difficulty was that I couldn't log in to the SOLUS system in time to complete the course selection. However, adding the GNDS120 course is my only current need for course selection changes. I don't have any other elective course assignments or progress that have been negatively affected as a result. My original study plan was interrupted due to illness, which led to my failure to register for this course on time.
Regarding the current situation, I have taken active treatment measures. By taking medicine and resting, my flu symptoms have subsided, and my body has basically recovered. I'm ready to dive into this course immediately. Now that I have fully recovered, I am confident I can catch up on the course progress, and this illness will no longer affect my future attendance or homework submission.
I sincerely request your approval for my supplementary selection of this course.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: The reason I missed the course selection deadline was a sudden illness. This was a temporary special situation that has now been resolved and no longer affects my daily activities.
After medication and rest, all my physical symptoms have completely disappeared. I have been able to resume my normal attendance and study rhythm. To prevent similar situations in the future, I will maintain a regular schedule this semester to support my immune system and high-intensity study.
If my application for supplementary courses is approved, I will take the following measures to ensure I keep up with the progress:
First, contact the course instructor to obtain the Syllabus and the reading materials missed in the previous weeks.
Second, as I have no additional elective courses this semester, I will use the time originally allocated to this course and my weekends to self-study the missed lecture content and reading materials during the first week after enrollment.
Successfully completing this course is a crucial step toward fulfilling my degree requirements. The above-mentioned plan will ensure I can smoothly integrate into the classroom and achieve grades in line with my academic ability.
