Petition Letter: During the Winter term of 2025 I took STAT 263, and finished with a grade that is not a reflection of who I am as a student and is an outlier to my other grades. The 2024/2025 academic year, I was returning after a year off due to struggles with anxiety. I was diagnosed with Health anxiety, and was working with both my family doctor and a psychologist to manage my anxiety. During the Winter semester, my anxiety was very prevalent and was impacting my ability to complete school work. I was struggling with sleep and focus. While writing the final exam, I was experiencing high levels of anxiety which greatly impacted my ability to complete the exam to the extent I had prepared for it. In this course, I had completed the course work and done the practice questions, and the final grade is not a reflection of who I am as a student. Winter 2025 semester was challenging as I was still learning to cope with my anxiety and not let it control my daily life and impact my studies and sleep, however I was not able to perform in this course to the standard I hold myself up to.
