Petition Letter: I am writing to request a late drop for ANAT 100 (Online).
I am a first-year Computing student, and this course is not required for my degree. I initially enrolled in it out of interest; however, as the term progressed, I found that the workload and heavy memorization became overwhelming. I had difficulty keeping up with this course while balancing my required Computing courses.
During this time, I also experienced a noticeable decline in my mental health. The ongoing stress and pressure affected my ability to function academically, and I required short-term academic consideration as a result. Managing this non-required course alongside my core courses added to these difficulties and made it challenging to stay on track overall.
After reflecting on my situation, I decided that withdrawing from this course was necessary in order to focus on my core program requirements and stabilize my academic performance. I dropped the course on SOLUS as soon as I recognized the extent of its impact.
I am respectfully requesting that this course be recorded as a Late Drop (DR) without academic penalty. This decision was made to support my academic progress and well-being while allowing me to continue engaging fully in my required coursework.
