Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am writing to formally petition for credit standing (CR) due to significant extenuating circumstances that have directly affected my academic performance.

Over the past year, I have been under serious financial constraints. I was unable to secure student loans because prior medical surgeries placed me below the minimum eligibility requirements for course load. At the same time, my father has been battling two cancers and is unable to work, which added a substantial financial and emotional burden on me.

In addition to these challenges, I experienced significant stress while managing my academic responsibilities alongside playing football during a prolonged season, as our team advanced deep into the playoffs. The combination of financial pressures, family health crises, and athletic commitments created a level of stress that impacted my focus and performance in my courses, particularly during the fall 2025 semester. This placed me in a difficult position, as I was unsure how to navigate.

During this period, I took steps to manage these circumstances, including meeting often with a therapist, but the cumulative effect of these events still affected my ability to fully engage with my studies.

I respectfully request that you consider my circumstances for credit standing. I appreciate your time and understanding of the challenges I have faced, and I hope that my situation can be taken into consideration.
Thank you for your attention to my petition.

Sincerely,
Mateo Tuioti
