Petition Letter: March 26th, 2026



To whom it may concern,

I am requesting to waive the late drop deadline for my enrollment in IDIS 173 in Summer 2025.

When I added my name to the waitlist for that class, I was finishing another class (ANAT 100) that I had not yet paid for. By the time ANAT 100 had finished, there was a hold placed on my account due to nonpayment of tuition.

Since this hold took effect in February of 2025, it implies that my registration in a Summer 2025 class would be blocked, and so I did not take any action to drop IDIS 173.

I did not even know that I had been enrolled, and received a failing grade, until I started to receive collection notices for the previously owed amount (the cost of ANAT 100), and the cost of the IDIS 173 class that I was informed I would be blocked from taking.

Once I started to receive collection notices for both amounts, the petition deadline for late dropping the class had already passed. Please allow me to petition to late drop the class now, so I can pay my previous balance and enrol in this class when I can pay for it.

I am an interest progression student, slowly entering the program as I navigate how my disabilities affect my capacity to study. I would like the failing grade removed so that I can take the class is earnest, but I can’t afford the tuition for a class I didn’t take.
