Petition Letter: To the Committee for Academic Appeal,

I'm writing to formally appeal for my academic standing this semester and request academic consideration. My capacity to succeed academically has been significantly hindered by major and ongoing personal and mental health issues that I have encountered this term.

My dog dissapeared as it was stolen most recently, which has been very challenging and emotionally upsetting. My mental health and general ability to concentrate have been negatively impacted by this circumstance and continuous stressors in my life, which has made it challenging for me to complete my schoolwork on time and adequately prepare for assessments.

I sought medical assistance for these difficulties, and a doctor evaluated me. Due to social and life stressors, I was diagnosed with an adjustment reaction. My doctor has advised me to take academic considerations into account, including the potential of postponing exams. I've included this evidence to back up my appeal.

Although I acknowledge that I have needed academic consideration on several occasions this semester, these requests don't indicate a lack of effort or dedication, but rather the continuous and cumulative nature of my situation. I have consistently tried to stay involved in my studies, but it has been challenging to maintain my typical level of academic success due to the influence on my mental health and capacity to focus.


I'm dedicated to learning and fulfilling my program's requirements. I humbly request that my circumstances be completely taken into account and that I be given the proper academic relief so that I can show my ability in a more stable setting.
