Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am submitting this petition to request Credit Standing (CR) in this course due to ongoing family circumstances that had a significant impact on my academic performance during the term.
Beginning in January and continuing throughout the semester, my family experienced circumstances that required me to take on increased responsibilities at home. Due to my mother’s work-related travel, I was required to return home on multiple occasions to assist with caring for my younger sibling and to help manage responsibilities within the household.
These repeated disruptions made it difficult for me to maintain a consistent academic routine. Travelling back and forth between home and university affected my ability to attend in-person lectures, stay organized, and keep up with coursework. In addition to the time spent away, the situation created ongoing stress that further impacted my focus and productivity.
Although I completed all course requirements, my performance during this period does not accurately reflect my understanding or typical academic ability. The combination of travel, family responsibilities, and ongoing disruptions had a direct impact on my academic performance in this course.
I have attached a supporting statement from my parent, as well as documentation of work-related travel during the term, to confirm the timeline and circumstances described above. I would be willing to provide any additional information if required.
Thank you for your consideration.
