Petition Letter: Hello,
I hope all is okay with you. I'm writing to formally ask for consideration of a GEO 243 quiz that I missed. I was at home in Toronto with a personal matter regarding my lost dog at the time the quiz was scheduled. Both my ability to be present and my ability to prepare academically were greatly impacted by this incredibly upsetting and urgent issue. I was unable to complete the test as a result, and I don't think I was able to do well academically.

I want to stress that this circumstance also had an impact on my general focus and preparation for the test, even though I was given academic consideration during this time. Despite this, my success in laboratories and other assignments throughout the semester has shown that I grasp the course subject.

In light of these circumstances, I humbly ask that the weight of the missed quiz be transferred to my completed assignments (labs, other quizzes, etc.) so that my final score more fairly represents my comprehension and effort in the course.

I am aware of how crucial it is to uphold fairness and course rules, and I sincerely appreciate any thought you can give. This has been a very difficult time for me, and I am doing my best to stay on track academically.
