Petition Letter: I am submitting this petition to request permission to enroll in STAT 263 again in order to improve my previous grade and strengthen my academic standing. I am currently preparing for post-undergraduate professional studies, and my GPA plays a significant role in my future admission opportunities.
While I completed the course previously, I believe my grade does not accurately reflect my academic ability or potential. At the time, I was balancing a heavy course load along with other academic and personal responsibilities and difficulties, which impacted my performance. Since then, I have reflected on my study habits, time management, and academic priorities, and I am confident that I can perform at a much higher level if allowed to retake the course.
Improving my grade in STAT 263 would have a meaningful impact on my cumulative GPA and would better reflect my commitment to academic growth and my readiness for further professional education. As I am pursuing competitive post-undergraduate studies, strengthening my academic record is extremely important to me.
I am fully prepared to dedicate the necessary time and effort to succeed in the course if permitted to retake it. I respectfully ask for consideration of this request and the opportunity to demonstrate my true academic capabilities.

Academic Plan: If this petition is granted, I plan to approach STAT 263 with stronger preparation and improved academic strategies. I will prioritize this course by creating a structured weekly study schedule, attending all lectures and tutorials, seeking additional help from the instructor or teaching assistants when needed, and completing regular practice problems to strengthen my understanding of the material.
I have also reflected on the factors that affected my previous performance and have made adjustments to better manage my academic responsibilities. I will ensure I maintain stronger time management, reduce unnecessary outside commitments during the semester, and stay consistent with reviewing material rather than relying on last-minute preparation.
My goal is not only to improve my grade, but also to build a stronger foundation in statistics that will support me in future coursework and post-graduate professional studies. Retaking this course will allow me to better demonstrate my academic ability and support my long-term educational goals.
