Petition Letter: I am writing to request permission to enroll in CHEM 113. I understand that CHEM 113 is considered an exclusion to CHEM 112, which I have previously completed, and that while both courses may appear on my transcript and contribute to my CGPA, they will not both count fully toward degree credit requirements.
My intention in taking CHEM 113 is to improve my academic standing and strengthen my GPA for future educational and professional opportunities, specifically for programs I am interested in applying to in the future. I believe that retaking this material will allow me to demonstrate my current academic abilities and improve upon my previous performance in chemistry.
I understand and accept the implications of enrolling in an exclusion course, including that the course may not contribute additional unit credits toward my degree.
Additionally, I have contacted the course instructor to request permission to join the course and I am currently awaiting confirmation. Once I receive conformation I will submit the documentation to support my petition. If permitted to enroll late, I am fully prepared to catch up on any missed coursework immediately by reviewing lecture materials, completing missed assignments, and attending office hours if necessary.
