Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Petitions Committee,

I am writing to respectfully submit this petition regarding my academic circumstances during the recent term. Over the past several days, I experienced an illness that significantly affected my ability to focus, complete academic work efficiently, and make clear decisions regarding my coursework and academic planning. The physical symptoms and fatigue made it difficult to maintain my usual level of academic performance and productivity during an important period of the semester.

At the same time, I was also dealing with uncertainty surrounding my financial ability to pay for an additional summer course. This created considerable stress and affected my ability to confidently plan my academic schedule and make timely decisions regarding my courses. The combination of illness and financial uncertainty negatively impacted my concentration, time management, and overall academic performance during this period.

These circumstances were beyond my control and affected both my academic engagement and my ability to perform to the best of my abilities. During this time, I attempted to manage the situation by monitoring my health, adjusting my workload where possible, and exploring financial options regarding course enrollment. However, the overlapping challenges still had a noticeable impact on my coursework and academic decision-making.

I take my academic responsibilities seriously and remain committed to my studies and long-term success at Queen’s University. I respectfully ask that the committee take these extenuating circumstances into consideration in reviewing my petition.

Thank you for your time, understanding, and consideration.

Sincerely,
Sean Ezeocha

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: Academic Plan

If my petition is granted, I plan to take several steps to ensure stronger academic performance and stability moving forward. Since the circumstances affecting my academics were temporary but impactful, my primary focus will be on improving time management, maintaining my health, and creating a more structured academic schedule.

First, I intend to carefully manage my course load and academic commitments to ensure that I can fully focus on each course without becoming overwhelmed. If necessary, I will consider retaking or completing affected coursework during a future term or summer session when I am better positioned both academically and financially.

Additionally, I will prioritize my physical well-being by addressing health concerns promptly and ensuring that illness does not continue to interfere with my studies. I also plan to make greater use of available university resources, including academic advising and student support services, to help maintain accountability and improve planning throughout the semester.

To address the financial uncertainty that contributed to my stress, I will continue seeking employment, internship opportunities, scholarships, and financial planning support to better manage educational expenses in future terms. Reducing this uncertainty will help me focus more consistently on my coursework and academic goals.

Overall, these steps will help me return to a stable academic routine and continue progressing successfully toward my long-term goals in Computer Science and technology-related fields. I remain fully committed to my education and to improving my academic performance moving forward.

Sincerely,
Sean Ezeocha
