Petition Letter
Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to respectfully submit an appeal regarding my request to be permitted to add DEVS 250: Environmental Transformations after the course enrollment deadline. I understand the importance of academic deadlines and recognize the need for students to follow university enrollment policies. I am requesting consideration for an exception due to circumstances surrounding my course planning for this academic term. When I was initially planning my schedule, I anticipated having a significantly larger work commitment than I currently do. Based on that expectation, I made decisions about my course load that I believed would be manageable alongside work responsibilities. Since then, my circumstances have changed, and I now realize that I have the capacity to successfully take on this course. I recognize that this situation arose from my own judgment during course planning, and I understand the responsibility I have for missing the enrollment deadline. However, I am requesting consideration because DEVS 250: Environmental Transformations is a required course within my degree plan, and enrolling in it would support my academic progression and help keep me on track with my program requirements.
I am confident that I can successfully manage the coursework and am fully prepared to catch up on any material or assignments I may have missed. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this request may cause and appreciate your consideration of my circumstances. I respectfully ask that my appeal be reviewed and that an exception be considered.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Ava Chubb

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to outline my academic success plan in support of my petition request to add DEVS 250: Environmental Transformations after the enrollment deadline. After reflecting on the circumstances surrounding my course planning decisions, I recognize that I initially based my schedule on an anticipated work commitment that I expected would require significantly more of my time. As my circumstances changed, I realized that I now have the capacity to take on this course and successfully manage the associated workload. Moving forward, I have reassessed my commitments and developed a clearer plan to support my academic success. I now have a more realistic understanding of how to balance my work responsibilities with my academic obligations. To support my academic goals, I plan to prioritize required courses when planning future schedules, maintain a structured schedule to organize coursework, deadlines, study time, and other commitments, regularly assess my workload to ensure that my commitments remain realistic and manageable, and stay proactive in monitoring academic deadlines and requirements. Successfully completing DEVS 250 is important because it is a required course within my degree plan and will help me remain on track academically. I believe that these adjustments will better support my future studies and strengthen my ability to meet my academic goals.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Ava Chubb
